Viking Festival at the County Park

The medieval Ferris wheel with the ‘Roue Belle’, for ages 5 and up : a fun and unique experience on a large wooden Ferris wheel! You’ll need to turn it using your own muscle power or take a seat and let it carry you along. Archery with the Compagnie Médiéval de Saint-Ouen, for ages 8 and up: Come and try your hand at archery with medieval-style bows ! Exhibition on the Vikings with the Compagnie Médiéval de Saint-Ouen, for ages 8 and up: They left their mark on history between the 8th and 11th centuries, thanks to their exceptional ships, and explored vast territories. As explorers, traders and warriors, they developed numerous trade routes and founded colonies. Their influence profoundly transformed the medieval world. You can discover the fascinating world of the Vikings ! Nordic board games with the La Branche Rouge association, ages 8 and up : an introduction to board games from Nordic culture ! Weaving workshop with the La Branche Rouge association, ages 8 and up: Come and discover and try out the traditional weaving techniques of the year 1000 ! Watch a craftsman specialising in weaving braids using a comb and a shuttle at work, and try your hand at these traditional skills. Introduction to medieval combat techniques with the Compagnie Médiéval de Saint-Ouen, for ages 8 and up : Helmets, swords, shields and many other iconic artefacts from the Viking Age will be on display! Immerse yourself in the medieval world through a battle re-enactment inspired by the clashes of that era and experience a unique sense of immersion, just as if you were on a medieval battlefield. Viking combat demonstration with the Namnlos association, for ages 8 and over: Watch an impressive re-enactment of Viking combat, performed by fighters equipped with faithful reproductions of period weapons and armour. A captivating experience offering a deeper understanding of the combat techniques and equipment of Viking warriors in the Middle Ages.
