Designed as an open-air creative laboratory, Zone Sensible combines permaculture production with multidisciplinary programming around the themes of Nature-Culture-Food.
The Parti Poétique art collective was founded in 2003 in Saint-Denis (93) by visual artist Olivier Darné. The collective develops ‘life-size’ research on themes that link art and the environment, with the desire to question the urban territory, using the bee as a medium and means of prospecting.
In May 2018, Parti Poétique inaugurated Zone Sensible, an art and food production centre on the grounds of the last remaining 19th-century market garden farm on the outskirts of Paris.
On the site of the former Plaine des Vertus, Parti Poétique is growing a hectare of permaculture and almost 300 species of plants.
As well as preserving the farm's heritage, the project aims to offer a programme that brings together artists, chefs, researchers, growers, residents and the curious. Designed as an open-air creative laboratory combining the themes of NATURE - CULTURE - FOOD in its programming, Zone Sensible is a resource centre in terms of urban agriculture and permaculture, and is also becoming a unique cultural facility.
There will be free walks in the garden, a tour of the farm, the chance to discover the works of artists in residence, free activities for children, workshops (bee-keeping, permaculture, cooking, etc.) and concerts or shows depending on the programme. The refreshment bar and deckchairs will also be there to make you feel at ease and help you have a good time.
