  • Parc départemental Georges-Valbon (La Courneuve) One of the largest parks in the Île-de-France region (bigger than Central Park), with vast lawns, many trees, water features and shady spots perfect for picnics or naps sheltered from the sun.
  • Parc de l’Île-Saint-Denis Located in the heart of the river island between the arms of the Seine, this park offers an immersion in nature right in the heart of the city. With its shady banks, meadows and wooded areas, it’s an ideal place to cool off, take a stroll or simply relax by the water.
  • Parc de la Légion d’honneur (Saint-Denis) Situated just a stone’s throw from the Basilica, this historic park offers a cool spot in the heart of the city.

Saint-Denis Basilica Several centuries on the clock and still as fresh as ever!

You wouldn’t necessarily expect to come across it in a selection of places to cool off, and yet! With its thick stone walls and naturally cool atmosphere, the Basilica of Saint-Denis offers a real moment of respite when the thermometer goes mad. Bonus? A fascinating immersion in French history, at the heart of the country’s first Gothic cathedral and necropolis of the kings and queens of France. The banks of the Seine Fancy a spot by the Seine? We've got you covered!

When it’s hot, the banks of the Seine at Épinay-sur-Seine are a cool haven. As well as long walks along the water’s edge, you’ll find plenty of facilities designed to help you relax: hammocks suspended between the trees, large picnic tables, deckchairs and benches in the shade… everything you need for a truly peaceful break.
