Description
The festival’s 30th edition brings a buzz to Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis! With resounding drums and brilliant trumpets, seasoned experts and enthusiastic amateurs join forces to set the dance floor on fire and sweep the audience up in the celebration!
Before evolving into the Villes des Musiques du Monde festival we know today, the journey began at the OMJA (Aubervilliers Municipal Youth Office). A long-standing player in community-based education, a true laboratory for cultural initiatives, and a launchpad for numerous artists, the OMJA served as the quiet crucible where the festival’s identity was forged.
For one evening, the OMJA steps back into the spotlight, inviting the public to explore both its history and its present-day activities. The program features demonstrations, performances, personal accounts from past and present, and archival screenings that trace this shared human journey. It promises to be a warm, moving occasion to rediscover the festival’s grassroots roots and celebrate the spirit of passing on knowledge, commitment, and creativity that has always driven the OMJA.
