The 30th edition of the Villes des Musiques du Monde festival is bringing Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis to life! Cultures, festivities, songs, and dance floors come alive, kicking off with a "Banquet Kréol" that blends Caribbean music, dance, and traditions!
A festive evening featuring concerts, a parade, Creole cuisine, exhibitions, and Caribbean culture!
The evening will kick off with a Creole banquet and a community-run food court offering a chance to discover various Caribbean culinary specialties. Entertainment and exhibitions will round out the program.
On the musical front, the Guadeloupean group Akiyo will take center stage. Renowned for their work with *gwoka* and traditional Guadeloupean rhythms, the group will perform a concert alongside François Ladrezeau and several guest artists, followed by a grand *koud tambou* (drumming session).
Roger Raspail and the Karaïb Kollectif Ensemb will also take part in the evening, presenting a musical performance inspired by Caribbean traditions. The lineup continues with La Sun Goes Down, featuring Horde, for a lively, festive finale.
The *Banquet Kréol* will also serve as an opportunity to pay tribute to Claude "Jimmy" Kiavué, a dedicated figure in the preservation and sharing of Guadeloupean culture.
