Description
Led by accordionist Élise Kali, the Bal Kréyòl brings together musicians from the groups Eko D-z’île, Mala’ka, Arts Créoles, and Difé Kako for a convivial evening dedicated to sharing cultures and passing on traditions. Come see them perform live!
This ball celebrates the inclusion of Martinique’s haute-taille in France’s National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage. To mark the occasion, a Martinican haute-taille dance caller (commandeur) will be present—a rare treat—to introduce the public to this iconic musical tradition.
Biguine, quadrille, mazurka, haute-taille—these are just some of the rhythms and dances that will bring the dance floor to life and showcase the rich musical heritage of France’s overseas territories. Performed by artists deeply committed to these traditions, this living repertoire ensures the ongoing transmission of culture through music, dance, and shared experience.
Authentic, welcoming, and thoroughly festive, the *Bal Kréyòl* invites everyone on a vibrant musical journey where memory, cultural transmission, and collective joy come together in a shared spirit of celebration.
