Description
What if honour revealed much more than meets the eye ? Visual artist Suzanne Bocanegra and actress Lili Taylor take us on a playful and surprising journey of discovery through a tapestry at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, exploring images and revelations along the way.
Any resemblance to reality is purely coincidental. A puppet president who has lost all touch with reality is the main character in *Symphony of Rats*. The play, written in 1988 by Richard Foreman for the Wooster Group, was reimagined in 2024. The tone is set, and everything that defines the essence of the legendary New York company’s staging fills the space: amplified voices, screens, suspended wires, videos, and actors positioned close to the audience behind black conference tables. *Symphony of Rats* does not follow a conventional plot. It is an operatic theatre piece in which the sound design and singing emphasise the actions and movements of the bodies in this continuous collage of objects, sounds and dialogue. We are drawn into a parallel world, worthy of a science-fiction film, filled with hallucinatory fragments and surrealist vignettes.
