Description
The show *Chemins qui montent* is both a tribute by the Franco-Algerian opera singer to the culture close to her heart—Kabyle music—and a meeting of her voice, rich with a thousand influences, and the music of Idir, Taos Amrouche and others...
A graduate of the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse, Amel Brahim-Djelloul was nominated in 2007 in the ‘Révélation Lyrique’ category at the Victoires de la Musique Classique awards. This concert reflects the musical personality of this multi-faceted artist, equally at home in the Baroque or Classical repertoire as she is in traditional Arab-Andalusian song. It paints a portrait of a woman steeped in these two cultures, who approaches the Kabyle repertoire through the lens of her operatic career.
Wishing to pay tribute to the music of her native country and to the songs of Kabylie that have accompanied her since childhood, she has surrounded herself with musicians blending Eastern and Western traditions.
A poetic and musical journey offered by Amel Brahim-Djelloul and her musicians to the heights of Kabylie!
