Description
This concert is an adaptation of the children’s opera by Isabelle Aboulker and Christian Eymery, centred on 19th-century penal colonies for children
On 5 August 1850, a law was passed to regulate the principles governing the detention of minors. From then on, all abandoned children, orphans and juvenile offenders were to be sent to agricultural penal colonies until the age of sixteen, eighteen or twenty, depending on the seriousness of the offences with which they were charged.
