Description

This Franco-Moroccan quartet celebrates the inexhaustible roots of Gnawa culture, in an irresistibly psychedelic, rock and funk-infused sound with a touch of blues. Yousra Mansour’s voice blends with the sounds of electric lutes and guembris… and we’re swept into a trance.
With their electric lutes and guembris, the band Bab L’Bluz weaves together a blend of Gnawa trance rhythms, Hassani chants from southern Morocco and Chaâbi polyrhythms, interwoven with the voice of singer Yousra Mansour, propelling this music into the magnetic fields of psychedelic rock and swirling clouds of incense. Highly active since its formation, the power quartet has been touring stages across the globe, distilling its hypnotic riffs and spreading its mystical, liberating frenzy. Poetic and powerful, Bab L’Bluz is a sonic landscape that transcends boundaries.
