Trainspotting is the adaptation of Irvine Welsh's cult novel, brought to the big screen in the 1990s. Mark Renton and his friends wander around their city, recounting their rebellious youth, rejecting social norms and finding an illusory refuge in drugs.
Trainspotting tells the story of the downward spiral into which a group of childhood friends have fallen. Rebellious, disillusioned and refusing to conform to the mould that society would impose on them, they have found refuge in the world of drugs, believing it will make their lives more bearable.
