The choreographer of this show, Mickael Le Mer, draws inspiration from painter Pierre Soulages, a master of the colour black, fascinated by his ability to make light burst forth from it, and creates a sublime hip-hop ballet.
Eight dancers emerge from the shadows to conquer a light that gradually takes over the stage. Their bodies are revealed little by little; vibrations, reflections and movements respond to each other until a final apotheosis where the light overflows, invading the stage and then the auditorium, in joyful communion with the audience.
On the floor or standing, solo or in groups, through refined and graphic gestures, the performers move across the space with remarkable mastery. The scenes are constantly changing, composed in almost cinematic frames, magnified by highly sophisticated set design and lighting. Thus, contrary to what the title suggests, the eye is awakened by these sculptures in motion, which give substance to a hypnotic quest: that of the passage from the deepest darkness to the most intense light.
