43rd edition of the Banlieues Bleues jazz festival in Seine-Saint-Denis. Tonight's programme: Love & Revenge ‘Agmal Layali’ (Algeria-Lebanon-France) and Mystique (DJ set - France).
- The Lebanese-French-Algerian trio Love & Revenge, founded by Wael Koudaih (Rayess Bek), revisits the legendary repertoire of Oum Kalthoum, the absolute icon of the Arab world and queen of tarab, through visual concerts combining Arab folk heritage and contemporary aesthetics.
With Agmal Layali (The Most Beautiful Nights), they breathe new life into the diva's classics: Egyptian melodies reimagined electronically, mixed rhythms, and images from old Middle Eastern films reinterpreted by video artist Joan Baz.
A vibrant dialogue between past and present, where yesterday makes today dance.
- Originally from Marseille, Mystique embodies the richness of cultural diversity. Her sets weave together different soundscapes, exploring the hybrid club music of the Global South and navigating between raï, rap, Arabic, Latin and Afro-Caribbean sounds.
More than just a DJ, Mystique conducts extensive research into popular music, which led to her appearance in Hadj Sameer Raï's documentary series Raï is not Dead (Arte TV).
A ‘specialist DJ’ cut out to make you dance until you reach ecstasy.
>>> Standing concert.
