Médina Niang Barbet takes you on a culinary journey with her restaurant and tea room, Keurina – Glob’traiteur. A finalist in the World Cuisine Championship, she shares flavours from around the world in Seine-Saint-Denis.
Born in Dakar in 1983, Medina grew up following her father's postings: Moscow, Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, before returning to her native Senegal. Finally, as a teenager, she moved to Paris to study at the prestigious Lycée Louis-le-Grand, before going on to the Sorbonne and completing a PhD in multicultural studies.
Medina Niang first taught at Paris-13 and Paris-Dauphine University. At the same time, she developed independent research, particularly on migration trajectories and cultural identities. In 2023, she launched a catering business because, in a way, cooking is an extension of her scientific approach, allowing her to continue researching and experimenting, but with flavours !
