Altaviarama presents the first major exhibition dedicated to Paolo Santini, architect, designer and visual artist. This discreet artist, who passed away in 2020, left his mark on the 20th century with his innovative approach, combining art and function in a quest for beauty.
Rooted in the industrial history of Saint-Ouen, Altavia's offices are located in an iconic building designed in the 19th century to house teams of automotive engineers. It is distinguished by its vast spaces and high glass roofs, designed to capture natural light. Since 1994, it has been home to Altavia France's employees. Its interior design preserves its industrial heritage while infusing it with a dynamic modernity: furniture and lighting sourced from flea markets over several years, transparency and fluidity of spaces encouraging communication, glass meeting pods made from structures from the Centre Pompidou, and more. The architecture of the space, without partitions, is organised around the Grande Halle, designed as a place where flows converge and where everyone can meet.
Today, this historic site is undergoing a new transformation. In a rapidly changing Saint-Ouen, Altavia has chosen to open its doors to contemporary creation and the public by launching Altaviarama, a cultural space designed to host exhibitions and artistic events at the very heart of the company. Through this initiative, the company is affirming its desire to make Altaviarama an innovative and accessible cultural hub, designed to complement the life of the company while supporting the arts scene. This hybrid venue, which is free to access, embodies the commitment of Altavia's leaders to art and dialogue and sharing.
