Under the theme “Resist!”, the 29th edition of the Villes des Musiques du Monde festival is bringing Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis to life! Culture, parties, songs, and dance floors are ablaze, with Femi Kuti, the flamboyant heir to Afrobeat, opening!
In the voodoo tradition, the festival of the dead pays tribute to the Guédés, mischievous and irreverent spirits charged with accompanying souls to the afterlife. This year, the celebration takes on a special significance, marked by peace, in a Haiti ravaged by extreme violence. The event consists of a day of round tables and an evening of music, where traditional forms performed by Kouzen Laky and Groupe Racine pave the way for contemporary explorations by the voodoo priest, singer and spellbinding dancer Erol Josué.
