Exclusively for those who love when electronic music breathes, English producer Whatever The Weather's project explores suspended interior climates, between minimalist piano, field recordings and floating synths.
London-based producer Loraine James has established herself as an innovative figure in electronic music thanks to her hybrid compositions blending IDM, jazz and club music on the Hyperdub label. At the same time, she is developing a more introspective project under the name Whatever The Weather, where she abandons rhythms in favour of a freer, more atmospheric approach.
With her second album under this alias, Whatever The Weather II, she continues to explore an intimate universe, this time moving from cold soundscapes to warmer atmospheres. Each track, named after a temperature, reflects an emotional state through sounds derived from improvisations, ambient textures, minimalist piano and modular synthesizers.
Unlike her other projects, which are often rooted in urgency or social commentary, this album favours a more internal, floating and emotionally moving expression, demonstrating the richness and sensitivity of her musical language.
