The spirit of the wasteland has been preserved but reinvented. We’ve transformed the derelict square metres into a creative playground, a laboratory of ideas and a refuge for those who want to do things differently, test, tinker and invent.
The Mains d’Œuvres building hasn’t always been home to artists: it used to be a social and sports centre for factory employees.
There was a gym, a dojo, a library… Today, these same rooms host concerts, exhibitions, residencies and workshops. A place that has literally kept the collective spirit within its walls.

Here, passionate residents, projects under construction and visiting artists all share the same roof and the same desire: to create without instructions. L’École des Possibles is the corner of Mains d’Œuvres where you can dance, sing, play, tinker – in short, try your hand at whatever you fancy. You don’t need to have studied at a conservatoire for ten years: you can come as you are, with your own desires and energy.
